Brahms - Symphony No. 4
Dvořák - Cello Concerto
Weber - Der Freischutz Overture
Enjoy an evening of stunning nineteenth century European classical music with Bristol Metropolitan Orchestra, beginning with Weber’s much-loved overture Der Freischütz with its spectacular opening horn passage. French soloist, Romain Lapeyre, principal cello of the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO), joins the Orchestra for a performance of Dvořák’s brilliant cello concerto, composed whilst Dvořák was on his second visit to America and much admired by Brahms. This delightful concert concludes with Brahms’s own fourth symphony, his last and undoubtedly the crowning achievement from the master of orchestral compositions.
